REVERE, MA — Seven residents of a Revere senior living facility have been diagnosed with the coronavirus, including one person who died. Revere Mayor Brian Arrigo said the Board of Health was notified Thursday of 33 positive cases of the virus in Revere, including seven people living at the Jack Satter House on Revere Beach Boulevard.
Five of the residents who tested positive have been hospitalized and one has died, although the cause of death has not been confirmed.
"My heart goes out to the family that has lost their loved one, and to the others who continue to fight the virus," Arrigo said in a statement. "As part of our continued effort to slow the spread of COVID-19 and protect our most vulnerable residents, we are directing further restrictions at Jack Satter House and issuing additional guidance to senior housing facilities across the city. COVID-19 is a highly contagious virus. It is imperative that everyone take measures to stem the spread within our community by staying at home."
Management at the Jack Satter House has been directed to quarantine all residents within their individual units in order to protect the health of other residents, staff and the community at-large.
Arrigo said the Revere Board of Health will issue an additional advisory to all other senior housing facilities in the city.
