Coronavirus Cases In Pinole, Hercules, Rodeo

PINOLE AND HERCULES, CA — The number of newly diagnosed coronavirus cases in Contra Costa County plunged to just one on Monday, according to county health officials. The county also announced that another person has died as a result of complications of COVID-19, the illness caused by coronavirus.

The total number of cases in the county is now 1,048, while the number of deaths rose to 32.

The number of coronavirus cases diagnosed in Pinole is now 18, as compared to 17 last Monday, according to Contra Costa Health Services. In Hercules, there are 17 cases, up from 15 last week, and 7 in Rodeo, an increase of one.

Across California, there have been 68,009 confirmed cases, and 2,719 deaths. At the beginning of the outbreak, the Golden State was in the Top 5 for most deaths. California has now slipped to the eighth spot behind New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Illinois and Connecticut.

In the US, there have been 1,340,643 cases, and 79,935 deaths.

Worldwide, the number of coronavirus cases has surpassed 4 million. The latest numbers at 12:30 p.m. Monday show 4,153,871 people diagnosed, and 284,628 deaths.

Stress and coronavirus

Most Americans report feeling additional stress because of coronavirus and its impact on our economy. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that these are the Common Signs of Distress:

• Feelings of shock, numbness, or disbelief
• Change in energy or activity levels
• Difficulty concentrating
• Changes in appetite
• Sleeping problems or nightmares
• Feeling anxious, fearful, or angry
• Headaches, body pain, or skin rashes
• Chronic health problems get worse
• Increased use of alcohol, tobacco, or other drugs

The CDC recommends that you seek help from your healthcare provider if these stress reactions
have interfered with your daily activities for several days in a row.
