Coronavirus update, Dec. 1: Stanislaus reports two deaths and 50 positive tests
Stanislaus County reached 1,417 deaths to COVID-19 with the two reported Tuesday by the Health Services Agency.
Cases grew by 50 to 81,403. Stanislaus has 1,019,900 negative test results and 79,001 people who are presumed recovered.
Other details:
Hospital cases: The county’s five hospitals had 91 patients with confirmed COVID-19 on Tuesday, up two from Monday. Adults in intensive care dropped by one to 24.
Positivity rates: On the state dashboard Tuesday, where numbers reflect the previous day, the seven-day positivity rate was 5.6%, holding relatively steady in the last few days and an increase of 0.1% from the prior seven days. The rolling seven-day rate a month ago was about 8.%.
Vaccines: As of Tuesday, 91.4% of county residents 12 and older had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 64.7% were fully vaccinated, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The age limit is now down to 5, but data on this younger group is not yet available.
The county has public vaccine clinics that each offer all three types: Pfizer (5 and older), Moderna (18+) and Johnson & Johnson (18+). The schedule through Dec. 11:

California has administered 59,597,608 vaccine doses as of Tuesday, according to the CDC tracker. The state ranks 11th in the country, with 150,833 doses per 100,000 residents. Vermont ranks first, West Virginia 50th among the states.
It’s important to note that if you’ve had part or full vaccination, wearing a mask and keeping with all the safety precautions like social distancing in some circumstances is still recommended by the Centers for Disease for Control and Prevention. Also, those who have had COVID-19 still need to be vaccinated.
