McDonald’s has announced the 15 restaurants that will open for delivery as the restaurant resumes its service in the coronavirus lockdown.

Customers in some areas will be able to order McDonald’s deliveries from next Wednesday as the food chain begins the process of returning to normal in the COVID-19 crisis. McDonald’s closed all of its 1,270 UK restaurants on 23 March.

In a tweet, McDonald’s revealed that the restaurants will be serving local customers by McDelivery only from 11am on 13 May.

The sites will offer a limited menu, with no breakfast offer, for delivery only between 11am and 10pm and there will be added safety measures in place.

The restaurants are largely clustered in and around London, and include three restaurants in Luton, two in Chelmsford, and one in Ipswich.

Sites in Tooting, Dalston, Welling and Harrow, Watford and Gillingham are also set to be reopened next week.

Before they open, the restaurants will undergo deep-cleaning with floor markings and Perspex screens installed.

The company will work with Just Eat and Uber Eats to deliver food to customers' doors.
