CONCORD, NH — The latest figures on coronavirus in New Hampshire include six new deaths, all individuals above the age of 60. In data released Thursday by the Department of Health and Human Services, the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases rose to 2,146, as the state continues to contend with deepening unemployment.
More than half of the new 92 cases come from Merrimack (32) and Rockingham (23). To date, the total death toll in New Hampshire due to coronavirus stands at 72.
While Governor Chris Sununu is expected to announce changes in the statewide stay-at-home order on Friday, the virus is still spreading. The DHSS noted in its report that "Community-based transmission continues to occur throughout the State and has been identified in all counties."
Also on Thursday, Sununu welcomed an airlifted shipment of more than 100,000 pounds of personal protective equipment.
