Coroner: 1-year-old dies days after crash in Hartwell that killed woman

A 1-year-old boy was pronounced dead four days after he was critically wounded during a crash in Hartwell, according to the Hamilton County Coroner's Office.

Officials confirmed Luka Drummond died Monday at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.

Investigators responded around 3 p.m. on Thursday to the 7900 block of Anthony Wayne Avenue for a reported crash.

Investigators said Nancy Johnson, 27, was driving a red Kia Forte headed south on Anthony Wayne Avenue when she crossed the centerline and struck a blue Honda CRV headed north.

Luka was in the backseat of the Kia Forte. Police said the child was not wearing a seatbelt in the crash. He was taken to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in critical condition.

Johnson was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center following the crash and was later pronounced dead, police said.

The driver of the Honda was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment.
