Coroner identifies Peoria teen killed on the Fourth of July

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood identified a 19-year-old as the person who died in the early hours of the Fourth of July.

Quinton Maurice Scott, Jr., of NE Adams Street, was brought to OSF Healthcare Saint Francis Medical Center in a private vehicle after police responded to gunshots in the area around 3:30 a.m. Monday.

Scott was taken to the operation room in grave condition and pronounced dead at 4:39 a.m. He had suffered from multiple gunshot wounds.

Peoria police said officers identified a crime scene in the area of the 600 block of NE Adams Street.
