York man charged with murder after two shot

YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A York man is facing charges of murder and homicide after two people were shot and one died in North Codorus Township Thursday evening.

The York County Coroner’s office was dispatched to the 4000 block of Clayoma Ave. in North Codorus Township at 5:24 p.m.

Northern York County Regional Police say that the male victim had multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Police say a woman also had an abdominal gunshot wound and was taken to York Hospital with serious injuries.

The York County Coroner’s office identified the victim as 48-year-old Hector Vargas, who lived at the scene of the shooting. A cause and manner of death are still pending.

Police say a suspect, Antonio Saldana-Ramos, was arrested and charged with murder of the first degree and criminal homicide. He was denied bail and remains in the York County Prison. Preliminary arraignment is set for Friday.
