Coroner releases ID of teen killed in southern Illinois crash

A teenager died in a single-vehicle crash along Illinois 127 south of Nashville in Washington County, and a man suffered life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

Robert Trevor Green, 17, of Flora died in the crash Sunday morning, according to a news release from Washington County Coroner Mark Styninger.

Green was driving a Kia sedan north on Illinois 127 when it left the roadway and became airborne, Styninger said.

The car struck the north side of the Locust Creek embankment.

Austin Reid, 21, of Louisville, Illinois, was a passenger in the Kia and suffered life-threatening injuries, Illinois State Police said in a news release.

No other information about the crash was released by investigators.
