Corrections officer killed in crash near San Joaquin County jail

A corrections officer with the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office was killed in a crash Sunday night near the county jail after getting off work, officials confirmed Monday. Sgt. Cesar Fuentes, 32, was riding a Kawasaki motorcycle on Mathews Road east of Michael Canlis Boulevard around 6:15 p.m. when he was struck by a pickup truck, according to the California Highway Patrol's Stockton office.
