Brooke Vincent has opened up on how her pregnancies affected her confidence.

The Coronation Street star shares two sons with fiancé Kean Bryan, 3-year-old Mexx and Monroe, almost 2.

Speaking on the Made by Mammas podcast, she said: "I was pregnant in the summer, and I was huge.

"I fully indulged and I think I couldn't see the baby at that point. So all I could see was, 'My arms were really big, I can't wear that top. I can't wear that dress because my bump's now really big. My legs are now really big'."

She continued: "I didn't have it in my head that there was an aftermath. There's so many different pressures that you put on yourself in pregnancy, but really, it didn't matter."

Brooke, who has played Sophie Webster on the soap since she was a child, added how she continued to carry her insecurities once she'd had her baby.

Speaking of a time when she went for a meal after giving birth, she said: "I didn't want to wear anything that I had worn while pregnant, even down to the trainers, because I just hated how I looked pregnant."

"People just underestimate how carrying a child can make you feel and how it can knock your confidence," she added.

"I was on social media at the time and there were a couple of people in the public eye that were pregnant the same time as me, and I was like 'I look nothing like that'. I didn't understand it. I'm like, 'Are they on a diet whilst they're pregnant? Why are they so tiny?'

"I just couldn't really grasp it, so I think I felt a bit like, 'Oh my god, this is really out of my control because I'm now having to wear things I usually wouldn't'."

Brooke recently said she has no immediate plans to return to Corrie, saying: "I love Corrie and it will always be my home, but it’s a very demanding job and quite restrictive as you have to be based near Manchester.

"I’ve been doing it since age 11 and that’s been my priority, but now I have the boys they’re my priority.

"Maybe when they get to a certain age – if they’ll have me back, that is – I’ll be saying, 'Please give me my job back!'"
