Corrie's Daniel goes on devastating downward spiral after Sinead diagnosis
Coronation Street's Daniel Osbourne will spiral out of control next week, as he struggles to cope with Sinead's devastating diagnosis.
The newlyweds had their world turned upside down in Wednesday's heartbreaking episodes, when they were told that Sinead's cancer had returned and was now terminal.
As Sinead undergoes more chemotherapy treatment in an attempt to prolong the time she has left, she struggles with the gruelling side effects – much to Daniel's distress.
With Sinead unable to care for her baby son Bertie as a result, Daniel raises the difficult topic of whether it's worth giving up on treatment altogether.
Although Sinead is initially hurt by Daniel's suggestion, she later accepts the tragic reality of the situation and states that her next round of chemo will probably be her last.
Wanting Daniel to carry on as normal, Sinead urges him to attend the Baileys' party, but he's in no mood to celebrate and ends up drinking alone in Victoria Gardens.
When Jenny finds Daniel, she urges him to attend the party, but quickly regrets her actions when his worrying behaviour continues.
As a drunk Daniel dances wildly, he makes a swing for Michael when he tries to lead him outside.
Spotting the commotion, Adam soon steps in and takes Daniel back to No.3 – where he breaks down and sobs into his nephew's arms.
Coronation Street airs these scenes on Friday, September 20 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
