Coronation Street's Faye Windass is soon to be the centre of a big storyline. Or should we say, the continuation of a big storyline.

Back in 2015, Faye gave birth to daughter Miley, but hasn't had contact with her after agreeing to let the child's father Jackson Hodge take her with him to Canada.

Tonight (March 10) will see him turn up on the cobbles, sparking conversations over whether Faye will regret choosing not to be part of Miley's life.

Speaking about her initial reaction upon learning that the story would be revisited, Faye actress Ellie Leach said: "I was really excited. I feel like it will be good for Faye to try and build a bond with her daughter after she has had so much heartbreak over the years.

"Faye has had such a tough time and it would be great for Faye to have a relationship with Miley.

"Colson Smith and I have been looking back at pictures of ourselves from the teenage pregnancy storyline and we can’t believe how young we look! It’s crazy to think that in that storyline Miley was born and in this storyline, she is here now as a child."

Ellie continued: "I have looked back at pictures of the scenes of when I gave birth as Faye and some christening pictures and I was holding a baby and now it’s like, she’s all grown up.

"Frankie Simmonds, who plays Miley, is so good and I look at her and think, 'Oh my god, you’re my child, I gave birth to you!'

"I just can’t believe how long ago the teenage pregnancy storyline was because it literally feels like two minutes ago."

Ellie added that the storyline has reminded her that she's been in the soap for more than a decade.

"I feel like I don’t realise until I say it out loud! I have been in Coronation Street for 12 years but it literally feels like I started yesterday. 12 years!" she said.

"That’s like, over half my life! It’s mental."

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
