Corsica-Stickney's Raven Barse, Wagner's Alex Cournoyer to play in Lakota All-Star basketball games

Apr. 9—The second annual Lakota All-Star basketball games are April 24 at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center in Rapid City. The girls game tips off at 7 p.m., followed by the boys game at 9 p.m.

Along with players from South Dakota, players are coming from Wyoming, Nebraska, North Dakota, Kansas and Florida.

Corsica-Stickney's Raven Barse and Wagner's Alex Cournoyer are both playing in the all-star games.

The roster for Team Hehaka boys includes: Cournoyer, Florida's Elijah Andrews, Wyoming's Peja Cook, Rapid City Stevens' Jordan Eberlein, Dupree's Cinch Hebb, Wyoming's Dillan Hereford, Lakota Tech's Josef Long Soldier, Flandreau Indian's Cyrus Makes Him First, Wyoming's James Richards, Dell Rapids St. Mary's Ashaun Roach-Valandra and Rapid City Central brothers Julian Swallow and Micah Swallow.

Team Tatanka boys roster includes: Red Cloud's Jarron Big Horn, Nebraska's Cadell Brunsch, Lakota Tech's Chuckie Cottier, Marty Indian's Israel Defender, Vermillion's Jakob Dobney, White River's Kenyon Easter, Dupree's Spence Moran, White River's Colbe Scott, Wyoming's Derek SoundingSides, Sf. Francis's Devon Spotted War Bonnet, Sioux Falls Washington's Tahj Two Bulls, North Dakota's Jesse White and Dakota Valley's Alex Zephier.

The Team Anpo girls' roster includes: Bennett County's Talaiah Bear Killer, Wyoming's Jaden Ferris, Pine Ridge's Lacey Few Tails, Tiospa Zina's Maria Gallardo, Lower Brule's Caleigh Little, North Dakota's Francesca Ross, Crazy Horse's Quentina Standing Soldier, Wyoming's Inila Ware, Wyoming's Dorianna White, Little Wound's Cheyenne Whiting and White River's Caelyn Valandra-Prue.

The Team Wicahpi girls' roster includes: Barse, Nebraska's Maddie Cleveland, Marty Indian's Chernessa Cournoyer, Wyoming's Jolynn Fighting Bear, Kansas' Mahpiya Irving and Wakiyan Wi Irving, Bennett County's Zoe Long Solider, White River's Amia Roach-Valandra, Crazy Horse's Deja Roberts, Lower Brule's Madison Wells and Rapid City Stevens' Kenya Merrival.

Tickets will be $10 for adults and $5 for students. Masks are required. There will be a 3-point contest and boys dunk contest following the girls game.
