Cosentino Los Angeles Showroom Opens

Cosentino recently opened its flagship Los Angeles showroom on Beverly Boulevard in West Hollywood last week. The brand’s fourth Cosentino City concept space in the U.S. covers more than 4,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, and is equipped with state-of-the-art tools for design pros, such as the Cosentino Selection Center that aligns and matches colors and materials.

Dacha Hosts Royal Jelly Harlem Pop-Up

Designer Lauren Alexander welcomes mother-daughter team Maya and Teta Gorgoni of the New York City–based home decor brand Royal Jelly Harlem at Alexander’s West Hollywood Dacha boutique. A selection of Royal Jelly Harlem’s tabletop accessories, bedding, and pillows, showcasing the Gorgonis' unique use of African textiles, will be available on Thursday, April 11, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Dacha West Hollywood on Robertson Boulevard, followed by another trunk show and cocktail party at Dacha Manhattan Beach on Saturday, April 13, from noon to 4:00 p.m.

The Getty Museum Presents the Galle Chandelier

“Flight of Fancy: The Galle Chandelier,” highlighting the work by French bronze caster and gilder Gérard Jean Galle, opens at the Getty Museum on April 9. The newly restored and reinstalled chandelier from the J. Paul Getty Museum’s decorative arts collection, which dates from 1818 to 1819, will remain on view for the next year, alongside photographs and other documentary information.

AIA Los Angeles Plans ENCOMPASS: Inclusive Architecture Symposium

AIA Los Angeles is organizing the third annual ENCOMPASS: Inclusive Architecture conference on Wednesday, April 24, at the California African American Museum, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The event will cover “business and cultural inclusion, procurement reform, and best practices with team-building to achieve greater equity and diversity in the delivery of professional services,” according to the program. Featured speakers include Roland Wiley of RAW International, Gail Kennard of Kennard Design Group, Barbara Bouza of Gensler, AIA Los Angeles President Kevin M. Holland (of Perkins+Will), and Los Angeles County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas.

HBO Plans New HQ in Mixed-Use Development

Cable network HBO has announced plans, starting in 2021, to move its headquarters to the still-under-construction Ivy Station development. The mixed-use project is located across the street from the Culver City Metro Expo Line station, and is being designed by Cuningham Group, EYRC Architects, KFA Architecture, and RELM Studio. The new office will span 240,000 square feet. HBO is joining Apple and Amazon in the Culver City neighborhood.
