Coshocton man dies in Florida motorcycle crash

DAYTONA BEACH, FLORIDA − A 22-year-old Coshocton man died in a motorcycle crash in Flagler County, Florida, during Daytona Bike Week. Authorities have yet to release his name.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the wreck occurred about 3 a.m. Tuesday on the John Anderson Highway, north of Bridle Ridge. The driver lost control of his 2007 Honda VTX and went off the right side of the road into a grassy shoulder. The bike went on its side and the driver and passenger became separated. The motorcycle went into the wood line and struck a tree.

The patrol post said neither were wearing a helmet. The female passenger, 20-years-old from Daytona Beach, suffered minor injuries and was not transported for treatment, the patrol post stated. The driver died at the scene.
