Coshocton resident purchased winning ticket in United Way raffle

COSHOCTON − Shelly Hardesty of Coshocton was named as the winner of the side by side raffle held by the United Way of Coshocton County during the 7 Bridges concert recently on the Coshocton Court Square. She purchased just one ticket.

The raffle was the first fundraiser for the United Way's 2023 to 2024 campaign. The organization raffled off a 2023 Polaris Ranger Crew SP 570 from Valley ATV. It sold more than 800 raffle tickets and made more than $12,000, which will be allocated out to local partner agencies next year.

Executive Director Emma Mitchell thanked Valley ATV for donating the vehicle, Billhart's Body Shop for storing it, Claxon Communications for supplying raffle tickets and Our Town Coshocton for holding the summer concert series. Various local industrial plants allowed the UTV to visit job sites. Mitchell also thanked the United Way board members for their hard work in selling tickets and the community at-large for making the fundraiser a success.

“We are very pleased with the outcome of this fundraiser. Since it was our first time doing something like this we were not sure what to expect, but the community really rallied around this fundraiser and made it a huge success. We hope to do something like this again next year,” Mitchell said.

The United Way of Coshocton County has been around for 83 years with the mission statement of uniting neighbors and resources to positively impact lives in Coshocton County. The agency focuses on three different impact areas: financial stability, health and education.
