Costco in talks with city

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Costco is now in talks with local officials to begin the process of building a Costco Wholesale store here in Grand Junction.

Costco has been eyeing the Grand Junction location for over 10 years. The city was approached back in November of 2023 for the project and is currently in discussions.

Hear from Mayor Anna Stout on how bringing a Costco to Grand Junction would boost the local economy and bring more jobs.

Curtis Englehart, the executive director for the Grand Junction economic partnership, says he is not surprised.

“We’re over that 150,000 mark now. You know it feels like as you reach certain milestones with your population you have some of these bigger entities start looking at you.”

The building will be located north of Interstate 70 and across from the Fellowship Church on 24 Road.

Construction is expected to begin sometime in late 2024.
