Cougars rout Monroeville

Sep. 18—ASHLAND — The state-ranked Crestivew football team scored a pair of touchdowns in both the first and second quarters en route to a 37-0 win over visiting Monroeville on Friday at Community Stadium.

With the loss, the Eagles saw their two-game win streak snapped as they fell to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in the Firelands Conference.

The Cougars — ranked No. 6 in the first Division VI Associated Press state poll — improved to 5-0 (2-0) and outgained the Eagles by a 373-62 margin in total yards.

Monroeville was held to three first downs and went 0 for 11 on third downs in the loss.

Isaac Roeder was 3-of-12 passing for 10 yards and ran 12 times for 10 yards for Monroeville. Brayden Schuller carried 12 times for 38 yards.

The Eagles will look to rebound on Friday when they visit South Central (2-2, 0-1) in another Firelands Conference matchup.
