Counselors help students process thoughts after fatal shooting

Tragic events like Wednesday's fatal shooting of students at the Edmondson Village Shopping Center takes time for teenagers to process. Baltimore City Public Schools canceled classes Thursday at Edmondson-Westside High School and dispatched counselors to the campus, which is across the street from the shooting scene. Members of the district's support staff held counseling sessions with a goal of helping the school's 900 students process the events. Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott was among those who believe that connecting with students soon after a tragedy is important.
