Country music star Tracy Byrd to perform at Sandusky County Fair

FREMONT — The 170th Annual Sandusky County Fair will feature an August concert by a platinum album-winning country music star.

The fair board announced Wednesday Tracy Byrd will be its first major national headliner since 2016 to perform at the Sandusky County Fairgrounds' grandstand.

Byrd, born in 1966 in rural Vidor, Texas, became a household name on the country music scene in 1993 when his third single, called "Holdin' Heaven," off of his self-titled debut album on MCA Records, hit #1 on the Billboard Country Charts.

That debut album went on to be certified gold, an award signifying sales in excess of 500,000 copies.

Byrd's second project, "No Ordinary Man," reached a double-platinum status, which certifies sales of over 2 million copies.

His "The Keeper of the Stars" single won the Academy of Country Music's "Song of the Year" award in 1995.

Tracy Byrd will be the headlining act at the 2022 Sandusky County Fair. He is scheduled to perform on Aug. 26.
