County health department receives new COVID-19 booster doses

LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Tippecanoe County Health Department announced Tuesday the agency has received both Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 boosters through the Indiana Department of Health.

The Pfizer booster can be given to ages 12 and above; while the Moderna booster can be given to those ages 18 and above.

Both the Pfizer and Moderna boosters require a minimum of two months since your last dose or booster, according to the release. Important to note, these boosters cannot be used for your first or second doses, according to the county health department's release.

The county's COVID-19 vaccine clinic, 1950 S 18th St., will open at noon on Thursday. Walk-ins are welcome. As of Tuesday, the scheduling system was not allowing appointments, the county health department stated.
