Couple found dead in Payson home identified

The Gila County Sheriff’s Department identified the two people who were found dead in a home in Payson as 38-year-old Chase Stanfield and 50-year-old Gail Stanfield, both of Payson.

The two were found dead with multiple gunshot wounds in a home in the Whispering Pines neighborhood of Payson on Oct. 27, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

According to their social media pages, the two were married.

The Sheriff’s Department, along with the Water Wheel Fire Department and Medical responded to the scene. Detectives are following multiple investigative leads and have sent evidence for forensic analysis, officials said.
