Courier Journal lands dozens of 2022 Kentucky Press Association awards. Check out the list

The Courier Journal had a productive 2022, and some of the news outlet's best work was recognized over the weekend by the Kentucky Press Association.

Several stories, photos and other coverage from staff members were honored with awards at the organization's annual banquet Friday night in Lexington, including multiple first-place finishers and the 2022 Jon Fleischaker Freedom of Information Award going to reporter Mandy McLaren.

Second place

Stacy Bryan became emotional while salvaging her belongings from a storage unit in Dawson Springs, Ky. on Dec. 13, 2021.  She was finding that most of her possessions were damaged or blown away following a tornado that caused deaths and destruction in the community.
