Courier Times, The Intelligencer rolling out new comics offerings. Here's what's coming

Comics in newspapers are a time-honored tradition.

And we know you love them. We have some changes coming, and we think they will enhance our offerings and your reader experience with our pages.

We are transitioning our comics pages across the USA TODAY Network to best serve you, our audience.

After surveying and listening to our loyal readers, we have decided to refresh our comics offering with an updated package that incorporates beloved favorites, including Marmaduke, Garfield and Hagar the Horrible.

The changes will allow us to incorporate longtime favorites, including Family Circus, Blondie, Peanuts and For Better or Worse.

Our new comics offerings will be rolled out in Monday. Oct. 2 editions.

Here's how the changes will impact the Bucks County Courier Times and The Intelligencer. The changes represent one more comic on Sunday and the smae number of offerings during the week:

  • Some titles will move to your daily weekday papers, but will not appear on Sundays. These are Luann, Frank & Ernst and Born Loser.

  • During the week, we will no longer run Flying McCoys, Real Life Adventures, Bizarro, Adam @Home, Bound & Gagged, Mutts, Marvin, Curtis, Sally Forth, Red & Rover, Wizard of Id, The Phantom, Shoe and Doonesbury.

  • The weekday papers will continue to run Marmaduke, Garfield, Crabgrass, Born Loser, Hagar the Horrible, Luann, Frank & Ernst, and Pickles. They will be joined by new offerings.

  • In your weekday and Sunday newspapers you will now find Blondie, Zits, Beetle Bailey, Family Circus, Dennis the Menance, Peanuts, For Better or Worse, Baby Blues, Crankshaft, Baldo, Pearls Before Swine, Jump Start, Ziggy and Non Sequitur.

  • Sunday will also still feature Garfield, Hagar and Crabgrass. We are also adding Foxtrot on Sundays.

  • On Sunday, we will no longer run Marvin, Shoe, Born Loser, Slylock Fox, Ripley's, On the Fast Track, Curtis, Real Life Adventures, Heathcliff, The Phantom, Luann, Frank & Ernst, Herman and Rose is Rose.

We understand change can be disruptive, and you may be missing some of your favorites.
