Court rules Trump cannot deny citizenship to military service members: ACLU

The American Civil Liberties Union is declaring victory on behalf of men and women in uniform who want to call the Unites States home, permanently.

According to a tweet the ACLU posted Tuesday afternoon, a court has ruled the Trump administration cannot deny citizenship to military personnel who’d been promised that right by Congress.

“BREAKING: In response to our class-action lawsuit, a federal court has ruled the Trump administration cannot deny thousands of US military service members the right to citizenship that Congress has long promised them,” the organization announced on Twitter.

The class action lawsuit was announced in late April on behalf of six non-citizens who signed up to defend the U.S.
