Nov. 5—COVENTRY — Charlotte Jordan finished with eight kills, 12 digs and six aces as the Coventry volleyball team advanced to the North Central Connecticut Conference tournament championship game on Thursday with a 25- 12, 25- 19, 25- 19 semifinal victory over Granby Memorial at Matt Hurlock Gymnasium.

Lindsey Harrington added 14 digs, five aces and won 17 service points and Abby Polo had 14 assists, three kills, seven digs and five aces for the second- seeded Patriots (16-5).

Jayne Hiatt finished with eight kills and 20 digs for the third- seeded Bears ( 174).

Coventry faced topseed Suffield ( 18- 2) in the NCCC tourney final Friday at 6 p. m.

The Wildcats moved into the title game with a 3- 0 victory over No. 4 Rockville.

Coventry defeated Suffield in four games in the regular season meeting between the two teams on Sept. 22.

BOYS SOCCER

Jadiel Lopez scored the only goal of the match seven minutes into the second half — as second-seeded Windham Tech edged No. 7 Platt Tech, 1- 0, in the Connecticut Technical Confernce tournament semifinals.

Lucas Tarbell made two saves in goal to record the clean sheet for the Mighty Tigers (11-4-3), who held the visiting Panthers (12-42) to one shot over the final 33 minutes.

Windham Tech, which advanced to the CTC final for the first time since 2011, will face No. 1 seed Abbott Tech on Saturday at 6 p. m. at Howell Cheney Tech in Manchester for the championship.

The Wolverines ( 135) defeated No. 4 Bullard Havens, 2- 0, in their semifinal.

On Wednesday, Truman Brodeur and Cooper Halotek scored goals in the final 25 minutes to give RHAM a 3-1 Central Connecticut Conference East Division victory at Enfield.

Brodeur scored from 10 yards out — off an assist from Halotek — that gave the Raptors (8-5-3) — a 2-1 lead in the 55th minute.

Halotek added insurance with his second goal of the game off a free kick.

Halotek gave RHAM a 1-0 lead — with nine minutes left in the first half.

Erik Buden made four saves in the victory for the Raptors, who open play in the Class L tournament with a first- round game Monday at Ellis Tech.
