Nov. 7—COVENTRY — Coventry voters are faced with many big decisions come Tuesday's state election.

The first three races on the ballot are the same as the Mansfield ballot.

Incumbent Governor Ned Lamont and Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz ( Democrat, Griebel Frank for CT Party and Working Families Party) are running against the Republican nominee for Governor Bob Stefanowski and his Lieutenant Governor Laura Devlin. The Independent Party's candidate for Governor is Robert Hotaling and his Lieutenant Governor is Stewart Beckett. The three candidates are vying for one open seat.

The race for United States Senator pits incumbent Richard Blumenthal ( Democratic, Working Families Party) against Leora Levy ( Republican Party). The two candidates are vying for one open spot.

The race for U.S. representative for Connecticut's 2nd congressional district features four candidates vying for one open seat: Democrat Joe Courtney, Republican Mike France, Libertarian William Hall and Kevin Blacker, who is the Green Party's candidate.

The district includes all of New London, Tolland and Windham Counties as well as parts of Hartford, Middlesex and New Haven Counties.

The race for State Senator for the 35th District pits Lisa Thomas ( Democrat, Independent, Working Families Party) against the Republican Party's candidate Jeff Gordon. Dan Champagne, the current state senator for the 35th District, is not running for re- election.

The 35th District includes the towns of Ashford, Chaplin, Coventry, Eastford, part of Ellington, Hampton, Pomfret, Stafford, Tolland, Union, Vernon, Willington and Woodstock.

Thomas' platform includes advocating for quality, affordable healthcare. She is also a strong advocate for women's rights and reproductive health. Thomas supports contraceptive equality and full access to abortion care.

She also supports making sure that first responders have the resources they need.

If elected, Thomas will be dedicated to bringing jobs to eastern Connecticut.
