Covered California hosts enrollment center for residents in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KGPE/KSEE) – Covered California is making a final push to enroll eligible Californians for health insurance before the deadline on Jan. 31st.

An enrollment center was set up at “Clinica Sierra Vista” on Elm Street in Fresno on Wednesday.

Organizers say it offered support for people looking to sign up for the program. Covered California says this is one of many sites throughout the state offering information and guidance.

The executive director of the program says the efforts being made are to reduce costs for more than a million people.

“We know affordability is the number one concern that Californians who are going without coverage have, in terms of thinking about what health care coverage is for them,” Executive Director of Covered California Jessica Altman.

The deadline is Jan 31st to apply and can be found here.
