COVID: 14-day travel history, 10-day SHN for incoming travellers

SINGAPORE — From midnight this coming Thursday (7 October), visitors to Singapore will be granted entry based on their travel history in the last 14 days instead of the current guideline of the past 21 days.

All travellers with recent travel history to Category III and IV countries/regions will also serve 10 days of Stay-Home Notice (SHN) at dedicated SHN facilities, instead of 14, said the Ministry of Health (MOH) in a press release on Saturday (2 October).

This is in line with the shortening of the quarantine period, which accounts for the shorter incubation period of the Delta variant.

Those who are fully vaccinated may apply to serve their SHN at their respective places of residence or at other suitable accommodation like hotels or serviced apartments. Unvaccinated travellers will still be required to undergo a 10-day SHN at dedicated SHN facilities.

Work and student pass holders must be vaccinated

In addition, from 1 November, all work pass and student pass holders must be fully vaccinated before arrival in Singapore. For travellers applying for entry via the Familial Ties Lane, priority will be given to those who are fully vaccinated.

As part of regular reviews of border measures, authorities have also adjusted the categories of some countries/ regions based on the COVID-19 situation there. From this coming Thursday, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Finland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and Sweden will be placed in Category II.

On the same day, Bahrain, Bhutan, Cyprus, Fiji, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Liechtenstein, Maldives, Slovakia, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States of America will be placed in Category III.
