COVID-19 Call Center Expands Capacity In Prince William County

MANASSAS, VA — The Prince William County Health District has expanded its COVID-19 Call Center to accommodate increased call volumes. In a press release, the health district also addressed the current vaccination waitlist and frequently asked questions surrounding the vaccination of teachers.

In January, the county's COVID-19 Call Center expanded to address questions from residents about vaccines. To assist the center's increase in call volume, library staff across the county volunteered to support the call center's mission.

Now, the call center offers an array of multilingual options to better assist the needs of Prince William's residents. Upon calling the center, an operator can connect residents with an interpreter to answer questions in many languages. The available languages include Spanish, French, Arabic, Farsi, Swahili, and Korean. The call center now supports more than two dozen languages.
The call center is open everyday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The center can be reached by calling 703-872-7759. The center is also able to help individuals looking to register for the county's vaccine waitlist.

The Prince William Health District noted that it is still offering the Moderna vaccine by appointment only. Those who are eligible to receive the vaccine are asked to register for the waitlist on the health district's website. There is a shortage of the vaccine, according to the press release, but the Health District will contact those on the waitlist when more doses of the vaccine become available.

Public school teachers are being vaccinated by the Prince William Medical Center. These clinics are being held separately from the Prince William Health District's clinics, according to a press release.

Prince William County is currently in phase 1b of the state's vaccine rollout plan. In phase 1b, vaccines are being administered to frontline essential workers, people over the age of 65, those with pre-existing health conditions, and people living in correctional facilities.

The Virginia Department of Health has published a tool on their website to help residents determine whether or not they are currently eligible for the vaccine. The Virginia Department of Health also operates a hotline for residents at 877-275-8343.
