COVID-19 case count up 120 in Luzerne County with one new death

Mar. 20—The state Department of Health on Saturday reported 120 additional COVID-19 cases and one new death in Luzerne County.

The positive case count is up to 26,092, and the death toll is up to 756. The department reported 56 in Luzerne County were hospitalized with COVID-19, an increase of 18 since Thursday, and five were in the intensive-care unit with three on ventilators.

The department reported 53,114 full vaccinations in the county with 470 on Friday and 74,606 partial vaccinations with 885 on Friday.

The department reported 4,213 additional positive cases statewide, bringing the statewide total to 984,515, and 1,548 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19. Of that number, 317 patients were in the intensive care unit, and the statewide death toll increased by 33 to 24,774 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

Vaccine providers have administered 4,169,215 total vaccine doses in the state, and and 1,474,080 people are fully vaccinated.
