Nearly 1,000 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Wichita County over the weekend as case numbers, deaths and hospitalizations rise.
The Wichita City-County Health District reported 940 new cases of the virus between Friday evening and Monday afternoon. The figure was 232 on Friday. Four deaths were reported in the same time period, including one person in their 50s, two in their 60s and one in their 80s.
The number of people hospitalized rose to 59 Monday compared to 47 on Friday.
