Jun. 11—New COVID-19 case counts continue to rise regionally and statewide, but the long-term picture keeps looking better.
The state Department reported 560 new cases Thursday while the northeast region reported a net of 36 new cases, but two-week counts of new cases continued to drop. In all, the state has had 1,207,495 cases, including 77,977 in the region.
The state also reported 21 new deaths, bringing the total to 27,438. That includes two in the region, which has recorded 1,872 deaths.
The two-week counts of new cases and deaths regionally and statewide all dropped.
Lackawanna added five cases for 18,485 total, including 2,896 probable. One new death increased the total to 479.
Luzerne added 22 cases for 31,964 total, including 2,602probable. One new death raised the total to 820.
Monroe added four cases for 14,753 total, including 462 probable, and remained at 321 deaths.
Pike added four cases for 4,015 total, including 433 probable, and remained at 54 deaths.
Susquehanna had a case subtracted for 2,650 total,including 349 probable, and remained at 62 deaths.
Wayne added two cases for 4,124 total, including 437 probable, and remained at 82 deaths.
Wyoming remained at 1,986 cases, including 352 probable, and 54 deaths.
