Starting Jan. 31, drive-thru COVID-19 community testing will be offered at the Henderson County Department of Public Health.

Henderson County has contracted with Mako Medical to provide drive-thru COVID-19 testing at the Health Department, 1200 Spartanburg Highway. PCR testing will be available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Registration is strongly encouraged prior to arrival. A registration link will be posted on the Health Department website, www.hendersoncountync.gov/health.

PCR tests will be provided with an anticipated turnaround time of 48 hours for results. Rapid testing will not be offered at this site, according to a news release from the health department.

Individuals should enter from Spartanburg Highway and follow signage to the testing site. Insured patients should provide their insurance information on pre-registration. Testing will be provided to uninsured patients at no cost.

Demand for COVID-19 testing remains high. Individuals can order free at-home testing kits through the United States Postal Service at www.COVIDtests.gov. Additional testing resources are available at www.ncdhhs.gov/testingplace.

The COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic at the Blue Ridge Mall remains open Tuesdays and Thursdays with new walk-in hours from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., closed for lunch from noon to 1 p.m. Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are available.
