- I want to get you some more news late coming out about COVID. We're seeing that a new COVID variant is spreading across the US. We're seeing the health experts say to BA.2 subvariant of the omicron strand could lead to another uptick in coronavirus cases. But Dr. Fauci says he does not expect a major surge in BA.2 cases.

Now, amid the threat of a new variant, US government advisors will meet on April 6 to discuss the authorization of additional coronavirus booster shots. And it comes as more states continue to lift mask mandates. The Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee is hoping to seek out a framework for determining when vaccines need to be changed as these new strains emerge.

And of course, that COVID surge in China are forcing Shanghai Disneyland to close its doors. Earlier today, Shanghai Disney announced its park resorts, including Disneyland, Disneytown, and Wishing Star Park, will be temporarily closed. Now, there's no word yet of when the park will reopen.
