COVID-19 In Manhattan Beach Continues At Highest Rate Ever

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The latest one-day count update for Manhattan Beach residents testing positive for the Novel Coronavirus is 25, just one shy of the MB record high of 26 from just last week. As of Sunday, Jan. 10, a staggering 930 Manhattan Beach residents have tested positive for COVID-19 since Los Angeles County began collecting data in March.

Manhattan Beach Mayor Suzanne Hadley revealed during the Tuesday, Jan. 5 City Council meeting that her husband David had tested positive, with confirmation coming on Monday, Dec. 14. To date, the mayor has tested negative, she told Manhattan Beach Patch.

Los Angeles County continues to be besieged by an accelerating number of COVID-19 cases. Today's daily positive rate is 17.5%, lower than the 20.6% reached on Monday, Jan. 4. Daily hospitalizations for the virus in the last week hover between 7,697 and 8,098.
