COVID-19: Taylor County adds 22 cases Thursday, active cases over 300

The Abilene-Taylor County Public Health District on Thursday reported 22 new cases of COVID-19, one of which was confirmed by polymerase chain reaction testing.

Active cases Thursday totaled 304 (72 PCR tests and 232 antigen tests), compared to 289 Wednesday and 208 the week previous.

The percentage of COVID-19 inpatients in the 16-county Abilene trauma service area was 1.21% Wednesday, compared to 0.87% Tuesday and 0.71% Monday, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services COVID-19 database.

The Abilene trauma service area Wednesday had 11 COVID-19 inpatients, three more than reported Tuesday. In the previous 24 hours, there were three COVID-19 admissions in the area, according to the state database.
