COVID-19: Taylor County adds 1 death, 1 case Thursday

The Abilene-Taylor County Public Health District on Tuesday reported COVID-19 data including one new case and one death, bringing the county's total pandemic fatalities to 642.

The new case was confirmed by antigen testing. Active cases Thursday totaled 69 (12 polymerase chain reaction tests and 57 antigen tests), compared to 68 reported Wednesday and 54 the week previous.

The percentage of COVID-19 inpatients in the 16-county Abilene trauma service area was 0.11% Wednesday, compared to 0.11% Tuesday and 0.11% Monday, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services COVID-19 database.

The Abilene trauma service area Wednesday had one COVID-19 inpatient, the same number reported Tuesday. In the previous 24 hours, there were no COVID-19 admissions in the area, according to the state database.
