PLEASANTON, CA — Three Pleasanton CVS stores will begin offering testing for the coronavirus this week.
The new testing sites are opening to help meet a surge in new COVID-19 cases, CVS said in a news release. A few dozen new drive-thru testing sites will open in California CVS stores Friday, in addition to the 107 stores where the pharmacy giant already began offering testing. CVS said it will soon have the capacity to issue 1.5 million tests at 1,400 stores nationwide.
Anyone interested must register in advance here to set up an appointment for CVS Pharmacy stores at 3999 Santa Rita Road, 6750 Bernal Ave., or 3010 Bernal Ave.
Patients must drive to the drive-thru window or a parking lot location where they will be given a test kit and instructions. A worker will observe the test to make sure it is correctly completed, CVS said.
A third-party lab will process the tests and results will be ready in about three days.
