COVID-19 Tests In Laguna Beach: Where To Find Locations
LAGUNA BEACH, CA — The number of Orange County residents hospitalized with coronavirus jumped from 27 to 282 as of Monday, according to the latest county figures. As of Thursday, the number of COVID-19 tests reported to the county's health care agency tallied at 96,337.
As of Monday, Laguna Beach's cumulative COVID-19 case count totaled 1,391, the OC Health Care Agency reported.
With the uptick of cases across Orange County, county health experts heavily recommended testing for COVID-19 before and after gathering with loved ones living outside of your household.
Orange County Health Care Agency experts said testing for COVID-19 is strongly recommended when you have symptoms of COVID-19, regardless of whether you are vaccinated or not. Proactive testing is also recommended when you do not have symptoms of COVID-19, but have exposure concerns.
The agency also encouraged residents who are essential workers with frequent contacts with the public to get tested frequently. Lastly, the OC Health Care Agency said, residents should get tested for COVID-19 24 hours before gathering or traveling, and three-to-five days after gathering or traveling, regardless of vaccination status.
While you may have noticed at-home COVID-19 testing kits missing from your local supermarket, there are several resources the county is offering to residents wishing to test for COVID-19 proactively.
Residents can order a free saliva or nostril swab COVID-19 test through the Orange County Health Care Agency. Orders for an at-home testing kit placed through the county's website will be fulfilled within 24 to 48 hours, depending on when the order is placed. Online registration is required, and residents may find clinical support through the service's patient portal.
Additionally, travelers flying through John Wayne Airport can receive a self-collection COVID-19 testing kit free of charge, the OC Health Care Agency announced early December.
