Will COVID-19 vaccine dosage change based on child's weight?

Dr. Kristin Moffit, Infectious Disease Specialist at Boston Children's Hospital, says children eligible for the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine should receive the same dose, regardless of body type or weight.

DR. KRSTIN MOFFIT: So his dose will still be based on his age and not on his weight, and in the Phase III trials that included over 1,000 12 to 15-year-olds, it included people of various weights, including people who were small for their age. So the safety profile was still very reassuring in those individuals. So the 12 to 15-year-old dose is still the one that would be recommended.
