COVID-19 vaccine tracker: 66% of Brevard residents fully vaccinated; Floridians at 68%

Some 66% of people living in Brevard County are fully vaccinated as of Jan. 25, according to data from Florida Department of Health.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention considers someone fully vaccinated two weeks after they've been given a single-dose shot (Johnson & Johnson) or a second shot (either Pfizer or Moderna).

Florida reported 5,383,094 total cases of coronavirus, an increase of 4% from the week before.

The five counties with the highest percentage of their population fully vaccinated in Florida as of Jan. 25 are Sumter County (86%), Miami-Dade County (82%), Osceola County (78%), St. Johns County (77%) and Monroe County (74%).

Noah McMinis, 13, who attends Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy in Melbourne, gets his COVID-19 vaccine, which was administered by Mary Mantanona, a certified medical assistant and vaccine administrator, at Viera Medical Plaza.  McMinis said he has "been testing negative for COVID, but we just want to make sure I’m safe for good. I play football, basketball and lacrosse."
