COVID-19 Walk-In Test Site To Open In Sussex County

SUSSEX COUNTY, NJ — The county of Sussex plans to open a walk-in PCR and rapid COVID-19 testing site beginning on Tuesday at the Sussex County Fairgrounds.

The free walk-in clinic at the fairgrounds on 37 Plains Road in Augusta will open for people 4 years of age and older.

The county announced Monday that it had 330 new and positive COVID-19 cases between Friday and Monday, along with five COVID-19 deaths. That compared with Friday's tally of 171 new cases and five deaths.

The dates and times for walk-in testing at the fairgrounds are as follows, in partnership with the New Jersey Department of Health and Vault Health.

  • Tuesday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

  • Wednesday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

  • Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The county announced Sunday that it was closing a drive-thru test site on Sunday and Monday. It had opened at the fairgrounds to hand out take-home COVID-19 tests. Tests were distributed there on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
