Even as Illinois expands COVID-19 vaccine eligibility to everyone age 16 and older on Monday, new virus cases continue to climb across the state, with new daily case counts having nearly doubled over the past month.
- Right now in Illinois, COVID-19 cases on the rise. The state is now averaging more than 3,100 cases a day. That's 93% higher than the average just a month ago. And the positivity rate is up to 4.4%. It's the highest point since the end of January.
