Senator Lindsey Graham (R., S.C.) on Sunday said to “stay tuned” for more “damning” information after he released records showing the main source for the Steele dossier had previously been the subject of an FBI counterintelligence investigation for his connections with Russian intelligence. “There's a day of reckoning coming just stay tuned, and there's more coming, there's something else coming, more damning than this believe it or not,” said the chairman of the Judiciary Committee in an appearance on Fox News. As part of the Senate panel's probe into the Russia investigation, Graham released declassified documents that showed the FBI had investigated Igor Danchenko, British former intelligence officer Christopher Steele's main source for his dossier, as a possible “threat to national security” a decade ago as a result of his connections with Russian intelligence.
Joe Biden's campaign team on Sunday hit back at Donald Trump's latest call for the former vice president to be drug tested ahead Tuesday night's first election debate. The president had earlier tweeted that he would be "strongly demanding a drug test of sleepy Joe Biden" ahead of the upcoming debate, moderated by journalist Chris Wallace. Mr Trump, 74, has since late August called for himself and Mr Biden, 77, to be tested for performance enhancing stimulants ahead of the Tuesday's clash.
On the season three premiere of "Red Table Talk" on Facebook Watch, Jada Pinkett Smith, daughter Willow Smith, and mother Adrienne Banfield Norris opened up about the recent moments when they felt most vulnerable. Pinkett Smith said that talking about her "entanglement" with musician August Alsina (which took place when she and husband Will Smith had a breakup in their marriage) on "RTT" in July was "the total breakdown of any mask." Willow told her mom that she was "proud" of her for speaking up publicly.
A massacre in a Mexican bar left 11 people dead on Sunday (September 27). The attorney general's office in the central state of Guanajuato said the bodies of seven men and four women were found at the scene in the city of Jaral del Progreso in the early hours. Authorities added that another woman was also found with gunshot injuries.
This week, Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron made the bombshell announcement that the cops who fatally shot Breonna Taylor would not be charged with killing her, calling their use of force in the March raid “justified to protect themselves.” In that justification, he said that one witness corroborated the three officers' insistence that they knocked and identified themselves at Taylor's Louisville home while executing a search warrant in connection with a narcotics investigation. It contradicted claims from Taylor's boyfriend, Kenny Walker, and 11 other residents, who said they didn't hear the cops announce themselves.
Maybe there's some irony in a British immigrant preaching pro-democracy revolution in America, but these are strange times. The death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, John Oliver said on Sunday's Last Week Tonight, "was distressing enough" before President Trump rushed to fill the Supreme Court seat vacated by "a liberal icon with an extremely conservative justice who's being called 'the female Antonin Scalia,'" Amy Coney Barrett, 48. "The fact is, when Barrett is confirmed, a president who lost the popular vote will have picked a quarter of the federal judiciary and a third of the Supreme Court, and his choices will have been rubber-stamped by a Senate Republican majority representing 15 million fewer people than the Democratic minority," Oliver said.
A heavily tattooed French schoolteacher said he was prevented from teaching kindergarten after a parent complained his appearance scared their child. Sylvain Helaine, 35, said the parent of a 3-year-old student at the Docteur Morere Elementary School in Palaiseau complained their son had nightmares after seeing him. Although the boy was not in his class, Helaine said he was removed from the classroom for two months and then prohibited from teaching children under the age of 6 years old.
It's largely known as a moisturizing agent in cosmetics such as skin creams and lip balms, but squalene is also used in some adjuvants — common ingredients in vaccines that help create a stronger immune response. The compound has been used in U.S. flu vaccines since 2016 and has an “excellent safety record,” according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Squalene could also lower the amount of vaccine ingredients needed for each person, meaning more could be produced with less.
After weeks and months of President Donald Trump characterizing former Vice President Joe Biden as an senile old man who can't string two sentences together, his campaign has finally realized that they should start raising expectations for his performance at the first debate this Tuesday night. Apparently, Donald Trump Jr. didn't get the memo. The president's eldest son kicked off his Fox & Friends appearance by attacking CNN's Jake Tapper for not pressing Jill Biden harder on her husband's history of making “gaffes” during an interview on State of the Union Sunday.
A Boston University professor was ripped for implying Amy Coney Barrett is a “white coloniser” who uses her two adopted Haitian children as “props.” Ibram X Kendi is now facing backlash and calls for his sacking after making the claims on social media. Ms Barrett, a white woman, has seven children including two Black children she and her husband adopted from the impoverished Caribbean island.
The coronavirus appears to have "one big trick," Shane Crotty, a professor in the Center for Infectious Disease and Vaccine Research at the La Jolla Institute for Immunology, told Bloomberg. Indeed, new studies published last week in Science found that an insufficient amount of interferon, the production of which may sometimes be inhibited in people with previously "silent" gene mutations and other times is actually disabled by a person's immune response, could signal a more dangerous infection. Writes Bloomberg, the work highlights the potential for interferon-based therapies, which are typically used in in the early stages of a viral infection when it's easier to avoid life-threatening respiratory failure.
When Donald Trump first exploded on the political scene, he was an unpredictable rule breaker and neither the news media nor anyone else knew how to handle him. First, the Lincoln Project has proved that while President Trump appears formidable, he's really just a creature of instinct who's actually both predictable and unable to defend his weak spots once you find them. Second, as we've seen in numerous interviews and a recent disastrous town hall, Trump has a very shallow comfort zone and is quickly out of his depth once he loses control of an interaction.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi thinks a deal can be reached with the White House on another COVID-19 relief package. Pelosi, Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer, Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin and White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, are all working to pass the relief package that fell apart in August. Pelosi and Mnuchin have since spoken by phone.
Not only does his company own more than $2 billion in real estate across New York City, Washington, DC, Chicago, San Francisco, and other major US cities, he also has more than $122 million in personal real estate along the Atlantic, according to Forbes estimates. In June 2019, Trump sold his personal property out west, a 5,395-square-foot Tudor-style mansion in Beverly Hills, for $13.5 million, reported Jack Flemming for The Los Angeles Times. That leaves Trump's real-estate portfolio of eight properties now spanning three states and one Caribbean Island.
LONDON—Over three million Black voters in key states were identified by President Donald Trump's 2016 campaign as people they had to persuade to stay at home on Election Day to help him reach the White House. The revelation comes from an enormous data leak obtained by the British news network Channel 4. It shows that, four years ago, the Trump campaign prepared files on almost 200 million American voters and separated some out into eight different categories.
Egyptian authorities have detained at least 382 people since Sept. 20 amid reports of small, scattered demonstrations against President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, a rights group said on Monday. The arrests come after security measures were tightened around the first anniversary of rare demonstrations in Cairo and other cities, triggered by appeals in September last year from an exiled former contractor and actor, Mohamed Ali. Videos posted on social media since Sept. 20 appeared to show several very small demonstrations involving up to several dozen people in different parts of the country.
Texas has stepped up efforts to counter the threat posed by a brain-eating amoeba detected in the water supply of a coastal county that led to the death of a 6-year-old boy earlier this month. Governor Greg Abbott on Sunday issued a disaster declaration for Brazoria County after Naegleria fowleri, a microscopic amoeba, was found in the water supply of the city of Lake Jackson in the greater Houston metropolitan area. "You don't hear about this stuff until it happens to you.
President Trump's tax records show he has classified his Seven Springs estate in Bedford, New York, as an investment property, The New York Times reports, but his son Eric Trump has described it as his family's "home base." Seven Springs sits on 200 acres and boasts three pools and multiple carriage houses, according to the Trump Organization. Trump purchased the property in 1996 with the intention of building 15 private homes, a golf course, and a clubhouse on the land, but local residents were able to stop the development, citing concerns over traffic and pollution.
Two people familiar with the matter said Trevor Milton bought the Nikola One's design from a designer at EV brand Rimac Automobili, according to the Financial Times. This is despite Nikola saying Milton was responsible for initially designing the One “in his basement.” Nikola is currently involved in a $2 billion lawsuit with Tesla, claiming that the Tesla Semi is “substantially" similar in design to the Nikola One.
Police confiscated 10 guns from former Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale's home, according to a police report obtained by Business Insider. The police arrived at Parscale's Florida residence responding to a 911 call from his wife, who was found bruised and stated he threatened to attempt suicide, the report said. "When I asked how she received the bruising, Candace Parscale [sic] stated Brad Parscale hits her," one responding officer wrote in the report.
