Find a COVID test near you around Kansas City. Here’s a map.

Overwhelmed by COVID-19 and testing in Kansas City?

Have no fear. Why? Because The Star’s service journalism team is here. We put together a map of local testing locations for you to use to find sites near you. We’ll continue to add to the map as more testing locations pop up or the hours change in the Kansas City metro.

To use the map, click or tap on one of the icons to see more information about the location, including:

  • If it’s free

  • If insurance is required

  • If you need an appointment and how to make one

  • When it’s open

  • If it offers PCR or rapid antigen testing

The map doesn’t include pharmacies like CVS, HyVee and Walgreens, but you can find out how to register for a test at those locations here. The state of Missouri will also send you a COVID-19 test for free, but availability is limited daily because of the demand.

Peter Carnesciali created KC Vaccine Watch, a Twitter bot identifying open COVID-19 testing appointments at CVS locations in Kansas City. We spoke to him about how to use the bot to find a test here if you need a last second appointment today.

Despite the frigid temperatures, COVID-19 testing was underway at 7820 Prospect Ave., where Mikey Boyer, a radiology student at Missouri Southern State University, tested a client Friday, Jan. 7, 2022, during the drive-through clinic at the Heavy Construction Laborers parking lot in Kansas City. People being tested reported wait times of two hours or more to be tested. Boyer said the clinic averages testing about 400 to 450 tests a day.
