Find COVID Tests, Vaccinations In Prince George's County: Jan. 18

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — As of Tuesday, Prince George's County saw a 65 percent case decrease in a 14-day period, according to data from The New York Times, with a total positive COVID-19 case count of 155,989. The county has been unable to update case data to its site during most of December because of technical issues.

The state has 909,424 confirmed cases total so far, reports the Maryland Department of Health.

Get tested

The Prince George's County Health Department offers free COVID-19 tests. Patients do not need a doctor's prescription or insurance to get tested; however, you must present identification. Testing at a health department location is limited to residents 10 years of age and older.

The Prince George's County Health Department and Office of Emergency Management will hand out at-home rapid COVID-19 test kits at designated locations each week. The COVID-19 test kits are free, regardless of insurance or immigration status. Residents will be required to show proof of county residency to receive a test kit. Examples of proof of residency include, but are not limited to, a driver's license, utility bill or lease agreement. One test kit, which contains two tests, will be distributed per person ages 2 years or older.

Kits will be handed this week on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon and Thursday from 8 to 10 a.m. while supplies last at the following locations:

  • Hillcrest Heights Community Center, 2300 Oxon Run Dr., Temple Hills

  • Watkins Regional Park, 301 Watkins Park Dr., Upper Marlboro

  • Cedar Heights Community Center, 1200 Glenn Willow Dr., Capitol Heights

  • Langley Park Community Center, 1500 Merrimac Dr., Hyattsville

  • Southern Regional Technology and Recreation Complex, 7007 Bock Rd., Fort Washington

The Maryland Department of Health has also opened and expanded several COVID-19 testing sites across the state including in Prince George's County:

Get vaccinated

As of Tuesday, 69 percent of Prince George's County residents of all ages have been fully vaccinated, reports The New York Times.

You can register for vaccines at this site and a variety of sites by using the state vaccine locator at https://coronavirus.maryland.gov/pages/vaccine#locator.

The county's community vaccination site at the Largo Student Center at the Prince George's Community College accepts walk-ins but appointments are encouraged. Vaccines are free for individuals ages 5 and older. Booster shots are available for ages 16 and older. The student center is open for vaccines Monday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. with walk-ins accepted between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.; Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with walk-ins accepted from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and the fourth Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Free vaccines are also available for first, second or booster doses at PGCPS elementary schools through the end of January. Walk-ins are accepted but appointments are encouraged. Vaccine clinics in Prince George's County include sites that are not operated by the county.

Mobile/temporary clinics in Prince George's County include one-day mobile clinics or clinics in a location for a few days or more.
