Both teams are back in action after having a bye in Week 7. The Cowboys have won five straight games and the Vikings two in a row.

The Vikings' last two wins have been on the final play. They got a 54-yard field goal by Greg Joseph to beat Detroit 19-17 on Oct. 10, then a touchdown pass in overtime from Kirk Cousins to K.J. Osborn to win 34-28 at Carolina in their last game, on Oct. 17.

Both teams have a top running back and will look to get going early on the ground. The Cowboys have three-time Pro Bowl selection Ezekiel Elliott, and the Vikings have two-time Pro Bowl pick Dalvin Cook.

The teams are meeting for the third straight year, and they're scheduled to play again next season at U.S. Bank Stadium. The Vikings won 28-24 at Dallas in 2019, and the Cowboys won 31-28 last year at Minnesota.

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer was a Dallas assistant from 1994-2006, including a 2000-06 stint as defensive coordinator. Since Zimmer arrived in Minnesota in 2014, the Vikings are 1-2 against the Cowboys, though he missed Dallas' 17-15 win at U.S. Bank Stadium in 2016 because of emergency eye surgery.
