CoxHealth expands with purchase of Springfield JPMorgan Chase Bank building

CoxHealth has purchased the JPMorgan Chase Bank building, 303 E. Republic Road, according to a press release.

The health system will move into a place in the campus' south building in April 2024. JPMorgan Chase will remain a tenant in other areas of the campus.

“The opportunity to add this much capacity, in this location, comes at a great time for CoxHealth,” said Max Buetow, CoxHealth president and CEO. “This expansion positions us well to continue meeting our community’s needs.”

The press release said that purchasing an already existing building allowed for "significant expansion at a fraction of the cost of new construction." CoxHealth did not disclose the amount it paid for the building.

Plans for the facility are in early stages but leaders expect that it will serve multiple functions for its 13,500-employee organization.
